The Role
- You will work directly with and learn from a Staff Engineer and CTO, being instrumental in designing & implementing backend services, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.
- You will work on projects ranging from API development, integrations, to new feature development, providing a rich experience for customers.
- You will follow best practices in testing, documentation & maintainability, ensuring a clean & scalable codebase.
Tech you will work with: Kotlin, Grails, Vert.x, gRPC, microservices, event-driven architecture, GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform, Kafka, BigQuery, PostgreSQL.
Ideal Candidates will have:
- 3+ years commercial experience building complex systems using a JVM language (Java, Kotlin, Scala).
- Experience building scalable microservices with gRPC and / or REST APIs.
- Experience working on data-driven, or message-queueing systems, using tech like Kafka.
- Experience working in a startup or smaller company, moving at a fast pace and owning as much as possible in the SDLC.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar field.
