Backend Engineer (Java, Spring) - HealthTech Startup - Hybrid-Remote: City of London (1-2 days per week) - £55,000 - £60,000

This team is building the world’s most advanced neurological monitoring platform turning everyday smartphones into clinically validated tools that provide real-time insights to clinicians and care teams. Already live with the NHS and expanding across the US, their technology enables:

With a 50/50 gender-balanced team and strong technical leadership, they’re now looking to make a key backend hire as they scale thoughtfully. This is a Backend Product Engineer position with real ownership. You’ll join a small, high-calibre team where:

  • You’ll touch everything, from core backend systems to product features
  • Work closely with product and leadership
  • Help scale a platform already being used in real-world healthcare settings

Tech Stack includes: Java 21, Spring (core to the interview process), AWS, microservices, Terraform.

  • 2-4 years’ experience (likely your 2nd company)
  • Strong foundations in Java and Spring
