Secret Media Network is a digital media group focused on recommending perfect plans, discovering great places, sharing things to do, and relevant breaking news in different cities around the world. Our family is composed of Secret London, Secret Chicago, Secret LA, Secret NYC, Secret Sydney, Secret Melbourne, Lisboa Secreta, Paris Secret, Madrid Secreto, Barcelona Secreta, and more! About The Role Reporting directly to our Executive Editor of the region, your tasks will include: Finding brilliant stories and generating lots of content ideas (not just articles!) for the London/UK market. Writing engaging, accurate, and informative articles, at pace, about those topics. Having a strong grasp of the city culture and things to do in London and surrounding areas. Managing an editorial calendar with colleagues that incorporates news, reviews, and local city content including trending stories and campaigns. Overseeing the creation and strategy of Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X and Secret London newsletters, keeping in line with SMN standards. Managing a team of enthusiastic local writers, video producers, and social media creatives (currently made up of 8 people). Liaising with the Secret London team and regional Executive Editor to share weekly feedback, best practices, and share strategic input from London. Analysing said metrics and content performance daily, gleaning insights and applying learnings to better inform future content. Being the final owner of the city\’s growth and its unique voice. About You 5+ years\’ experience working for a newsroom, content agency, creative agency, or digital media property. Native writing and speaking level in English. Strong attention to detail, critical-thinking skills, and problem-solving abilities. Leadership skills: comfortable managing a team, and supporting them to help achieve their goals. Experience managing a team of creatives while still meeting individual goals and project deadlines. Understanding of SEO best practices and keyword targeting. Experience writing search-optimised copy would be key for us. Hands-on knowledge and understanding of the current social media landscape. Strong understanding of digital media trends, with a good feel for what makes content popular online and offline. You regularly stay up-to-date with digital technology trends and emerging patterns in media. Comfortable identifying and tracking relevant community KPIs, and drawing conclusions from data. Expertise with WordPress & Canva and/or other software such as data analysis like GA4, Meta Insights, etc. If you have an insatiable curiosity and love for London, we want you on the team!
