Role Description The Technical Manager is a full-time hybrid role based in Northern England / Southern Scotland. This role will have a regular presence at our two UK manufacturing sites in Ayr (Scotland) and Silloth-on-Solway (Cumbria) . This role is responsible for the nutritional integrity of all feed manufactured and supplied by Fevara (UK) Limited, while supporting operational efficiency and commercial objectives. Day-to-day tasks include managing technical projects, coordinating research and development initiatives, ensuring that product formulations and applications meet regulatory and quality standards, and providing expert technical guidance to customers, distributors, and internal teams. The Technical Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams to interpret data, improve existing products, and support new product development. The role also involves leading and mentoring technical team members, preparing technical documentation, and delivering training and presentations to both internal stakeholders and external partners. Key Responsibilities · Product Technical Integrity · Cross-Functional Support · Research & Development · Team Development & Expertise · Feed Safety & Compliance · Quality Systems & Governance · Incident & Risk Management Qualifications and Experience You’ll need: A PhD in ruminant nutrition, BSc degree in Animal Science, Animal Nutrition, Agriculture, or a related discipline. Significant experience in a technical leadership role within the UK animal feed industry. A strong working knowledge of feed legislation and feed assurance (UFAS/FEMAS/GMP), HACCP Exposure to commercial formulation, rationing software and nutritional governance Proficiency with standard office and data analysis software; familiarity with laboratory or field trial methodologies Experience managing customer and third-party audits Proven ability to lead, mentor, and coordinate technical teams and cross-functional project teams To be an authoritative but pragmatic technical decision-maker To be organised, resilient, and comfortable managing competing priorities To have commercial awareness, alongside technical rigour Technical Support experience to respond to customer queries, troubleshoot product-related issues, and provide clear technical guidance Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively on-site with colleagues and external partners, maintaining a safety-conscious and quality-focused mindset A full driving licence and be able to travel within the UK How will you be rewarded?
