The role: As an Android Intern, you will build highly performant mobile applications to integrate seamlessly with our backend services. You’ll be working on a small, multi‑functional team that may include other engineers, a designer, product manager, data scientist and other roles. Success in this role requires the ability to take on challenging problems and design & develop an amazing solution with the mentorship of an experienced team member. You will build amazing products focused on reimagining the shopping experience. In Your Tool Bag:

  • Solid foundation of fundamental or object oriented programming skills
  • A builder at heart - you love to create innovative and engaging user experiences
  • Knack for creative problem solving and innovation - you aren’t afraid to explore novel approaches outside of the status quo
  • Passion for tackling challenging and ambiguous problems in a fast‑paced environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate across a variety of technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Desire to grow your software engineering skills through collaboration, open communication, direct feedback and knowledge sharing

You have experience with:

  • Android SDK, Kotlin, and/or Java
  • Developing mobile applications in a classroom setting or hands‑on environment (e.g. prior work experience, side projects, or coding competitions)

Bonus points:

  • You have published an Android app in the Google Play Store or have contributed to the development of an existing app in a prior internship
  • Experience with test writing and quality assurance methodologies
  • Experience collaborating cross‑functionally with designers, product managers, data scientists, et al.

Program Eligibility:

  • In the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or related technical field
  • Currently enrolled in a full‑time, degree‑seeking program at an accredited university with the intent to return to the degree program upon completion of the internship
  • Ability to work full‑time (40 hrs/ week) from May 25, 2025 to August 9, 2025 in either the Madison, WI or Birmingham, AL office without relocation or housing assistance
