The Role

As a Senior Estimator, you will be the commercial lead during the pre-construction phase. You won't just be crunching numbers; you will be a key strategic voice in winning work and building lasting relationships with a high-quality supply chain.

  • Lead the preparation of prime cost estimates and tender submissions for projects ranging from £1M to £15M+.
  • Conduct thorough site visits and attend pre-tender meetings to understand project complexities.
  • Collaborate closely with the Design and Project Management teams to identify value engineering opportunities.
  • Manage and nurture relationships with sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.
  • Risk management: identify potential commercial risks and propose mitigation strategies.

The Person

  • Experience: Proven track record as an Estimator or Senior Estimator within a UK Main Contractor.
  • Sector Knowledge: Experience in Education, Healthcare, or Heritage/Restoration projects is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Conquest, CauseWay) and a strong grasp of 2 stage tenders and JCT contracts.
  • Mindset: A proactive, hands-on professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and values quality over quantity.
