Overview
We are recruiting on behalf of a bespoke construction firm based in Sussex, specialising in high end residential refurbishments and the construction of luxury one off new build houses across West Sussex and the South Coast. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Contracts Manager to take a senior leadership role within the business. You will be responsible for the operational success of up to several live projects simultaneously, ensuring our reputation for exceptional craftsmanship and quality is maintained across every site.
Responsibilities
- Multi Project Oversight: Successfully manage the delivery of up to 4 live high end residential projects, ensuring they are completed on time, to specification, and within budget.
- Operational Leadership: Act as the primary point of contact for Site Managers, providing technical guidance and ensuring high standards of Health & Safety and quality control.
- Programming & Planning: Create and maintain detailed project programmes, monitoring progress closely to mitigate delays and optimize resource allocation.
- Client Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with private clients and architects, providing regular progress updates and managing expectations throughout the build.
- Financial Accountability: Work alongside the commercial team to monitor project costs, oversee procurement schedules, and ensure projects remain profitable.
- Subcontractor Management: Oversee the selection and performance of specialist subcontractors, ensuring their work aligns with the luxury standards of the firm.
Requirements
- Proven Experience: A strong track record as a Contracts Manager or Senior Project Manager overseeing multiple concurrent sites.
- Sector Expertise: Extensive background in high-end residential refurbishments and/or luxury bespoke new builds (typically £3m – £10m+ range).
- Leadership Skills: Ability to manage and motivate site based teams and coordinate multiple moving parts across different geographic locations.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of high specification materials, traditional building techniques, and modern luxury finishes.
- Communication: Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate the sensitivities of working for private high net worth clients.
