Role Description
This is a part-time, on-site Domiciliary/Supported Living Healthcare Assistant role based in Nottingham. The Healthcare Assistant will provide person-centered care and support to clients in their own homes and supported living settings, including assistance with personal care, mobility, nutrition, and daily living activities. Responsibilities include monitoring and recording client wellbeing, following care plans, supporting independence and social inclusion, and promptly reporting any changes in health or behavior to senior staff. The role involves working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and external professionals, while maintaining dignity, respect, and confidentiality at all times. The Healthcare Assistant will also adhere to organisational policies and regulatory standards, including safeguarding, infection control, and health and safety procedures, and may be required to work shifts, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
Qualifications
- Previous experience of at least a year as a Healthcare Assistant, Support Worker, or in a similar care role, ideally within domiciliary or supported living services.
- Ability to safely perform manual handling tasks and support clients with mobility and positioning in line with training and guidelines.
- Strong Interpersonal Skills, including empathy, active listening, clear communication, and the ability to build trusting relationships with clients, families, and colleagues.
- Demonstrated Patient Care skills, providing compassionate, person-centered support with personal care, daily living activities, and emotional wellbeing.
- Basic understanding of Medicine administration procedures, including following care plans and organisational policies (previous experience with medication support is an advantage).
- Sound awareness of Health & Safety principles, including infection prevention and control, safeguarding, and risk assessment in care settings.
- Relevant care-related training or qualifications (e.g., NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care) are desirable.
- Reliability, flexibility to work various shifts, and the ability to follow care plans and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
