We are looking for a creative, technically proficient, and proactive Mid-Level VFX Artist to help us build the next generation of original IPs.

The Role: Mid-Level VFX ArtistAs a Mid-Level VFX Artist, you will sit at the intersection of Art, Design, and Technology. You will be a key contributor within our creative Art Department, supporting multiple disciplines to produce high-quality visual effects for environments, characters, and gameplay mechanics. Your work will define the “feel” of our games. Whether it’s the subtle ambiance of a glowing forest or the high-octane impact of a combat mechanic, you will ensure that every particle and shader matches the ambition and cinematic vision of the studio.
- End-to-End Creation: You will take effects from initial concept and modeling/texture creation through to final implementation and optimization within Unreal Engine 5.
- Environmental & Gameplay Effects: Designing a diverse range of effects including smoke, explosions, fire, magical abilities, and interactive environmental hazards.
- Stylistic Consistency: Working closely with the Art Director to ensure that all VFX work adheres to the project’s specific art style and visual language.
- Technical Collaboration: Liaise with the Design, Animation, and Code teams to understand the functional requirements of an effect.
- Implementation Support: Assist in the technical setup of effects to ensure they trigger correctly and perform efficiently within the game logic.
- Optimization: Take responsibility for solving pipeline issues and technical hurdles. You will ensure all assets fit within performance and memory budgets without sacrificing visual fidelity.
- Template Creation: Develop effect templates that can be reused or adapted by the team to speed up production workflows.
- Tool Enhancement: Research and provide options for new effects and aid in the development of custom tools for the VFX and Art teams.

- Professional Experience
- Minimum 1 Year Experience: Proven track record in a professional VFX Artist role within the games industry.
- Shipped Title: You must have at least one shipped game title under your belt, demonstrating an understanding of the full development lifecycle.
- Unreal Engine & Niagara: Expert-level knowledge of the Niagara VFX system is essential. You should be comfortable with simulation stages, data interfaces, and particle logic.
- DCC Tools: High proficiency in Autodesk Maya for mesh and animation creation, alongside industry-standard 2D tools like Photoshop and After Effects.
- Real-Time Fundamentals: A deep understanding of shaders, overdraw, draw calls, and how VFX impact GPU/CPU performance.
- Simulation Tools (Desired): Ideally, you have experience with fluid simulators such as EmberGen, Houdini, or Niagara Fluids to create high-end volumetric data.
- Animation Principles: A solid grasp of timing, weight, pace, and tension. You know how to make an effect “pop” and feel satisfying to the player.
- Adaptability: The ability to pivot between different art styles, from highly stylized to realistic, depending on the project needs.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical departments.
