Part-Time Payroll Specialist in Stirling

FES is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Payroll Specialist to join our payroll team at our brand-new Head Office in Stirling. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional seeking a part-time role with flexibility around working hours, within a busy and supportive team.

You will play an important role in ensuring our payroll processes are accurate, timely and compliant, while providing a professional and responsive service to employees and managers across the Group.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing weekly and monthly payrolls accurately and within required deadlines.
• Processing starters, leavers and contractual changes.
• Checking payroll information and resolving discrepancies.
• Processing statutory payments and deductions.
• Maintaining accurate and confidential payroll records.
• Responding to payroll queries from employees and managers.
• Supporting payroll reconciliations and reporting.
• Ensuring payroll processes comply with relevant legislation and Company procedures.
• Providing general payroll administration and support to the wider Payroll team.

We are looking for an experienced payroll professional who has:

• A relevant payroll qualification or qualification at degree level, or equivalent payroll experience.
• Previous experience in a payroll role, ideally with responsibility for weekly and monthly payrolls.
• Good knowledge of HMRC requirements, statutory deductions and pension administration.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work to strict deadlines.
• Experience carrying out payroll reconciliations and maintaining effective controls.
• Strong communication skills, with the confidence to deal with employee and management queries.
• A professional approach to handling confidential and sensitive information.
• Experience using payroll and HR systems. We use COINS payroll system.
• The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a wider team.

Hours & Flexibility

The position is 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with the standard working pattern of 8:00am – 12:00pm. We operate a flexitime scheme, providing flexibility around start and finish times. There may also be an opportunity to increase the hours to up to 25 hours per week, subject to business requirements and the successful candidate's availability.
