Fertility Solutions is one of the UK’s leading specialist male fertility clinics, offering extensive diagnostics and specialist care within one integrated clinical setting. We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Deputy Laboratory Manager to join our expanding team in Beaconsfield.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a senior andrology professional who is passionate about delivering outstanding patient care, driving innovation and helping shape the future of male fertility services in the UK.
The Role
The successful candidate will work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team, taking an active role in the operational and managerial responsibilities of the laboratory while supporting the continued growth and development of the service. Responsibilities include:
- Perform diagnostic male fertility techniques including comprehensive semen analysis, DNA fragmentation testing, sperm preparation for surgical retrieval and microbiome testing.
- Ensure a high standard of excellence and quality within the laboratory.
- Participate in regular quality control and KPI monitoring.
- Continually review laboratory operations and suggest improvements where needed.
- Propose and assist with options for publishing clinic data.
- Undertake administrative duties to support smooth clinic operations.
- Carry out DNA fragmentation testing.
- Maintain various databases and support laboratory documentation.
- Maintain the clinic’s CQC and HCPC registration standards.
- Assist with duty rotas and workforce planning.
- Support management in audit preparation, equipment validation and risk assessments.
- Produce incident and validation reports in a timely manner.
- Respond to correspondence and emails professionally and efficiently.
- Support the management and development of the andrology team.
- Support ongoing ISO 15189 accreditation and quality management processes.
Requirements
- HCPC registration is essential – applicants without HCPC registration will not be considered.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience within andrology.
- BSc in an applied science or related discipline.
- MSc in Reproductive Science desirable.
- Experience managing or supervising laboratory teams desirable.
- Experience with ISO 15189 accreditation or working towards accreditation would be highly desirable.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of laboratory governance, quality management and compliance.
- A proactive, solutions-focused and professional approach.
Specialist Training & Development
The successful candidate will receive full training in the SCSA DNA Fragmentation Test, for which Fertility Solutions is fully accredited. This role also offers a rare opportunity to work closely alongside Professor Jonathan Ramsay and gain direct exposure to his pioneering clinical and research work in male fertility.
