An exciting opportunity for a permanent leadership position is available to join our team in Christchurch, New Zealand.
The Role
The Laboratory Team Leader at our clinic in Christchurch manages a small team that provides high standard diagnostic, treatment and support services for patients undergoing investigation and treatment for infertility. This role is evolving and now includes oversight of our Dunedin clinic and working closely on a regular basis with the company's Science team. The person in this role will be expected to travel to Dunedin on a regular basis.
Working within a multi-disciplinary team and having significant patient contact, we are looking for someone who possesses strong technical skills, a high level of attention to detail, with proven leadership experience and ability to foster positive working relationships across all stakeholder levels. This is a full-time role, 40 hours per week. This role will share the public holiday roster and at times, some weekend coverage may be required.
Ideal candidate, skills and experience
- The successful candidate must have a minimum of 4 years' embryology experience and 3 years' experience leading a team.
- Embryologists at Fertility Associates are also expected to be able to carry out a wide range of andrology services including semen cryopreservation.
- Proficient in all embryology procedures including embryo biopsy and oocyte cryopreservation.
- Experience training and developing more junior team members.
- Confident to manage basic employment challenges fairly and in a timely manner.
- Ability to roster work to be completed efficiently, balancing the work with employee development opportunities and work/life balance.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate change that makes a positive difference and achieve team buy-in.
- The drive to achieve high-functioning teams.
- Excellent interpersonal and proactive communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain effective positive professional working relationships with different teams and all levels of stakeholders.
