The Company: Fertifa is a leading provider of employee benefits, covering all underserved areas of healthcare. Fertifa fills the gaps between PMI provision and general practice healthcare to offer inclusive and comprehensive health benefits for all employees, in one place. Our mission is to make personal healthcare accessible for all individuals, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, age, or relationship status. We have a long-standing legacy of providing reproductive health and neurodiversity clinical support to global Enterprises and SMEs alike. Today, our services extend across fertility and family-forming, maternity, menopause, women’s and men’s reproductive health and neurodiversity, offering clinical and wellbeing support, educational resources, and financial assistance - all through our Fertifa app. After acquiring Juniper Reproductive Health and completing a seed extension in 2025, we are now entering an exciting phase of growth. As we scale, we’re building a team of mission-driven, high-performing individuals passionate about transforming employer-funded healthcare.

The role: You will own the design of our entire product ecosystem. You are responsible for the user interface and experience of our patient mobile app and our web-based clinical/admin portal. This is a hands-on, end-to-end role. You’ll join a small, senior team so day to day autonomy, proactive communication, and self-management are essential.

Responsibilities:

  • End-to-End Design: Lead the design process from research and user flows to clearly specked, dev ready designs, with regular review and feedback cycles built around sprint priorities.
  • Cross-Platform Execution: Design, iterate, and maintain features for our mobile app (iOS/Android) and web dashboards.
  • Design System Ownership: Partner with engineering to build and manage a scalable design system, ensuring consistency between design and code.
  • Accessibility: Ensure all products meet accessibility standards to support a diverse patient and clinical audience.
  • Collaboration: Work with Engineering and Product to define requirements, navigate technical constraints, and ship high-quality features.
  • Brand Stewardship: Maintain visual identity across all products and support occasional wider design needs as required in a small team.

Your skillset:

  • Product Design Generalist: Highly capable across both UX (logic, flows, structure) and UI (patterns, typography, visual craft).
  • Product Sense: Confidence in building the right solutions to serve business and customer needs, balancing best practices with design intuition.
  • Systems Thinking: Ability to design specific features while accounting for their impact on the broader system and different user types.
  • Pragmatic Execution: You balance craft with the speed of a start-up, knowing when to use established patterns vs. custom solutions – and you’re exploring where AI tools can help you work faster or better.
  • Figma Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Figma, including component libraries and interactive prototyping with meticulous file hygiene.
  • Communication: Clearly articulate the "why" behind design decisions, balancing clinical, technical, and commercial perspectives to align stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • 4-5 years of experience shipping functional digital products (mobile and web).
  • Experience working in a high-growth start-up.
  • Preferred: Experience in healthcare or managing sensitive user data.
