Job Description:

Position Summary: Responsible for maintenance, servicing, and repairs of roads and other infrastructure assets.

  • Creates safe Maintenance of Traffic (M.O.T) control by setup and removal of traffic control devices.
  • Must be comfortable working from heights in bucket trucks, scaffolding, ladders, and aerial platforms lifts.
  • Basic maintenance and repair of bridge structures and equipment rooms.
  • Repairs/maintains functionality of roadway catch basins, sumps, pumps, fire hydrants, and other mechanical assets.
  • Transports crew and equipment to work sites operating large trucks and specialized motor vehicles.
  • Required to be available for emergency response rotations as needed.
  • Maintain and repair highway and other surfaces including potholes, striping, and working with concrete and asphalt.
  • Controls vegetation appearance and growth through use of lawn mowing equipment and chemical sprayers.
  • Keep roadways free of debris including ice and snow by using snow removal and/or sanding equipment.
  • Avoids legal challenges by complying with federal, state, and local legal requirements.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of underground infrastructure maintenance.
  • Ability to recognize hazards inherent in routine and non-routine tasks.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions.
  • Ability to read, write and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of standard methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in construction and maintenance.

Education and Experience:

  • HS Diploma or GED (Required).
  • One (1) year work experience in infrastructure, maintenance, and repair (Preferred).
  • A valid driver license and a good driving record are required.

Work Conditions/Travel Requirements:

The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk on a wide range of surfaces, and use hands and fingers. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
