The role: Ferrovial Construction is looking for a Graduate Chemical Engineer to join the Slough Sewage Treatment Works project. The Ferrovial 2‑year graduate development programme is designed to develop personal, professional and technical skills through a blended approach. Location – Slough, Berkshire.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Process and Commissioning Engineers in the development and review of process design documentation.
- Assist with process calculations, mass balances, data analysis and technical reporting.
- Participate in the review of P&IDs, process flow diagrams and commissioning procedures.
- Support commissioning planning, testing activities and performance verification during project design and project execution.
- Assist in monitoring process performance and identifying opportunities for optimisation during commissioning activities.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to support project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with project quality, health, safety and environmental requirements.
Knowledge And Skills: We are looking for graduates with:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of Water and Wastewater Treatment gained through academic studies, university projects, internships or extracurricular activities is considered an advantage.
- Understanding of fundamental process engineering principles, including mass balances and process performance evaluation.
- Willingness to learn process design, commissioning methodologies and plant performance evaluation.
- Ability to analyse technical information and prepare clear engineering documentation and reports.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and international environments.
- Proactive attitude, curiosity and eagerness to develop technical and professional skills.
- Good organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with engineering software, modelling tools or data analysis platforms is beneficial.
- Excellent written and communication skills and ability to interact at a variety of levels.
Essential: Must have right to work in the UK by the start of employment and throughout the entirety of the graduate program.
