Job Description: Project Controls Graduate 2026

About Ferrovial Construction UK Airports, Highways, Construction and Building subsidiaries. Ferrovial is committed to developing sustainable and innovative solutions, with the aim to create value for society, and for clients, investors and employees. We design and construct some of the UK and Ireland’s most high‑profile transport infrastructure projects.

The role:

Ferrovial Construction is looking for Project Controls Graduates to assist with, and in some cases be responsible for, day‑to‑day activities on a variety of major UK infrastructure projects. The Ferrovial 2‑year graduate development programme is designed to develop personal, professional and technical skills through a blended approach. You will work under the supervision of Project Controls Managers and in collaboration with the site team.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide support to the Project Controls team in preparing month‑end reporting data and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of information.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial, Delivery, and other relevant disciplines to gather information promptly in alignment with the Month End Reporting Calendar.
  • Support the Project Controls team with performance reports and ad‑hoc requests from Senior Management.
  • Develop sound knowledge of Earned Value and its applications to Construction.

Skills and Competence:

  • Excellent written and communication skills and ability to interact at a variety of levels.
  • Degree or Master’s in Engineering / Construction Project Management / Quantity Surveying / Maths.
  • Motivated to learn and add value to the team, the role and the Graduate programme.
  • Analytical thinker who enjoys problem solving.
  • A proven team player who can effectively work with others.
  • Enjoys working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Proactive approach to working and learning.
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of the industry.
  • Familiar with all Microsoft packages.
  • Interpersonal Skills.
  • Highly motivated.

  • Work independently with minimal supervision.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Cost Engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of construction scheduling principles, NEC3 contracts and Power BI.

Essential: Must have right to work in the UK by the start of employment and throughout the entirety of the graduate program.
