Job Description
As a ProjectWise Manager, you will serve as a key member of the FBRS (Ferrovial BAM Joint Venture) Information Management Team. This position is responsible for overseeing the graphical CDE ProjectWise across the HS2 Alliance. The role involves providing support to HS2 and Alliance partners to facilitate effective mobilisation, implementation, and management of ProjectWise, ensuring alignment with HS2 requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Datasource ownership & configuration: Create and administer datasources; manage users, groups, user lists; design folder/work area structures; configure environments/attributes/interfaces; and maintain workflows/states.
- Security & access control: Define role‑based permissions, workflow/object security, and inheritance; implement RBAC (enterprise and project roles) across multiple projects/clients; run periodic permission audits.
- Managed Workspaces: Implement and maintain ProjectWise Managed Workspaces (Configuration Settings Blocks, imports, dynamic frameworks), align MicroStation/verticals configurations per contract, and troubleshoot workspace resolution issues.
- Performance & file transfer optimisation: Configure/maintain Caching Servers and storage areas; tune Delta File Transfer, compression, streaming, and client caching for distributed teams.
- Standards & BIM/CDE governance: Align ProjectWise usage with ISO 19650 CDE practices (states/metadata/revisions) and client/exchange information requirements across contracts.
- Automations & services: Configure Orchestration Framework/Automation Services for renditions (PDF/iModel), title block/attribute exchange, and scheduled jobs.
- Upgrades & compatibility: Plan/test upgrades (server, Explorer, integration modules) and validate app integrations (MicroStation/AutoCAD/Revit/verticals) and version support.
- Monitoring & troubleshooting: Use logs and admin tools to diagnose permissions, locks, indexing, rendition, and network issues; operate within best‑practice guardrails.
- User enablement & support: Provide guidance, technical documentation, and training.
Knowledge & Skills:
- ProjectWise core administration: Datasources, users/groups, environments/attributes, workflows/states, storage areas, caching, DFT, and security models.
- Permissions/RBAC: Folder/document/workflow permissions, inheritance, and CONNECT role‑based access across enterprise and project scopes.
- Managed Workspaces: CSBs, workspace import/export, dynamic managed workspace concepts, and workspace/application associations.
- CDE & ISO 19650: Information container states (WIP/Shared/Published), metadata/revisions/status codes, and alignment of PW to ISO 19650 data model.
- PW services & integrations: Orchestration Framework/ICS for PDF & iModel, attribute exchange/title blocks, and app integrations (e.g., MicroStation).
- Workspace implementation: Build/maintain CSBs, import workspace content, and resolve managed workspace resolution/pathing issues.
- Security design: Simplify permission models, standardise role templates, and prevent inheritance conflicts across multiple client projects.

Qualification & Experience:
- ProjectWise administration: Hands‑on administering PW datasources, permissions, and work areas across multiple projects/clients.
- Managed Workspaces: Practical delivery of at least one managed workspace rollout (preferably dynamic framework) supporting MicroStation/verticals.
- CDE/BIM processes: Demonstrated application of ISO 19650 workflows (states, revisions, metadata) within a CDE; experience mapping client EIRs to PW.
- Upgrades & integrations: Planned/tested PW server/Explorer upgrades and maintained integrations (e.g., ICS, rendition, attribute exchange).
- Familiarity with Bentley Infrastructure Cloud, ProjectWise Web & Drive administration.

The Ferrovial BAM Joint Venture (FBJV) has a successful history of delivering critical infrastructure for the UK on time and to budget together in joint venture partnership. They first worked together in 2010 as BFK, delivering three Crossrail contracts, including the longest stretch of tunnelling works between Royal Oak and Farringdon and Farringdon Station, the first central station to be completed on the Elizabeth Line. The team is also delivering the Silvertown Tunnel project together in East London and has been delivering excellence at each stage of HS2, such as Fusion JV for the Enabling Works packages, EKFB for the central Main Works Contract and now delivering the track infrastructure across the entire HS2 route.
