Under the general guidance of the Head of the Global Real World Evidence (RWE) function, the Global RWE scientist will:

  • DRIVE the RWE strategy for the assigned Ferring compounds through lifecycle.
  • LEAD the implementation and delivery of RWE tactical plan(s).
  • Proactively PARTNER with all relevant internal global stakeholders to ensure that the available clinical evidence is optimized to support regulatory approval and market access.
  • Support local country operating units to conceptualize and deliver local RWE studies.
  • Continually INNOVATE with our internal RWE community and external RWE advisors (KOLs) to find new approaches to generate and strengthen the quality of evidence documenting the value of Ferring products.

Your day at Ferring:

  • Develop and implement the asset-specific global RWE strategy to generate comprehensive and compelling evidence that improves stakeholder understanding of the disease, the patient journey, the burden of illness, current treatment and its potential limitations, and demonstrating the value of Ferring products when used in routine clinical practice.
  • Identify and evaluate relevant published research to generate insights on evidence gaps to inform the RWE strategic plan and subsequently tactical evidence generation plan.
  • Identify and evaluate the suitability of potential real-world data (RWD) sources, and recommend data generation solutions when suitable RWD are unavailable.
  • Lead evidence generation activities, including the identification, evaluation and selection of potential research partners from academia and CROs, to accomplish business objectives.
  • Conduct risk assessment for all proposed RWE studies and in collaboration with Head of RWE, develop and implement risk mitigation activities.
  • Provide scientific leadership as an expert in applied epidemiological methods - stay current with and adopt emergent analytical methodologies, accepted industry standards, authority guidelines/initiatives, tools and applications, and ensure best practice sharing.
  • Drive the identification, assessment, and integration/implementation of new data resources, methods, technology and analytic tools.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives, including Directives/SOP updates and audits.
  • Communicate research findings and potential value messages via publications in appropriate peer-reviewed journals and presentations at clinical and/or professional society conferences.
  • Seek out and adopt innovative approaches that can answer complex research (business) questions and difficult to address evidence gaps.
  • Support local M&S companies to develop and implement local RWE studies that adhere to internationally recognized good research practices, aligned with global regulatory, market access and/or commercial strategy.
  • Partner cross-functionally to identify, understand and resolve project risks and develop mitigation strategies accordingly.
  • Build and maintain broad RWE-related networks (internally and externally) to gain insights that can be leveraged to positively impact market access and regulatory approval.
  • Contribute to the development of and successful delivery of function-specific EXCELLENCE and INNOVATION projects/initiatives.
  • Secure required funding for asset support and proactively manage assigned project budgets.

Behind our innovation…There’s you:

  • Advanced Degree (PhD, MD or equivalent) in epidemiology, biostatistics, health outcomes research, or a related field, with 5+ years of post-graduate experience; or master degree (MS, MPH) with 7+ years of experience.
  • Experience in real-world evidence generation within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry, with a track record of publication and data dissemination is preferred.
  • Deep understanding of real-world data sources, study design methodologies, statistical analysis techniques, and good research practices governing data generation.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively cross-culturally and cross-functionally.
  • English fluent, excellent communication skills.
