Our Contracts Delivery Team is looking for an experienced Installation Electrician to join our growing project team, based at our East Kilbride branch. This is a hands-on role working on the installation, testing and commissioning of wastewater pumping systems for the housing developer market.
Ferrier Pumps has grown into a major force in the supply, installation, repair and maintenance of pumps and associated equipment. With offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen, we support a diverse client base across Scotland and the North of England, from the Shetland Isles to the Borders. Our customers span a wide range of sectors including Agriculture, Oil & Gas, Marine, Biogas, Brewing & Distilling, Water & Power, Leisure, and Food Processing.
You will be a time-served electrician, self-motivated and a strong communicator, providing electrical installation, testing and commissioning support to our Contracts Delivery Team. The team primarily delivers new wastewater pumping system installations, working in line with current Scottish Water specifications. The role involves both workshop-based activities in East Kilbride and on-site installation work, with time split between the two.
Responsibilities:
- Electrical fit-out of kiosks, including control panels and associated components
- Installation, glanding, termination and testing of electrical cabling
- Factory testing of equipment prior to delivery to site
- On-site installation of control and field equipment
- Cable testing prior to energisation
- Commissioning and functional testing of installed systems
- Completing surveys and producing reports for the Project Engineer
- Working from schematics, cable schedules and specifications
- Reporting directly to the Electrical Supervisor and Project Engineer / Manager
You will work closely with a small, motivated team of electricians and mechanical fitters, contributing to both new-build and upgrade projects delivered to a high standard.
Requirements:
- 18th Edition qualification with a good working knowledge of BS 7671
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interpret and follow technical documentation
- Desirable (but not essential): Electrical HNC
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in the water industry or industrial engineering
- Previous wastewater or water industry experience
- Confident use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
