This is a generalist HR business partnering role supporting a mix of manufacturing, warehouse, and office-based populations across our Nottingham and East Midlands sites, totalling approximately 500 employees. You will work autonomously, managing your own ER caseload, driving people initiatives, and partnering operational managers to deliver the people agenda. You will not have direct line management responsibility in this role, but will be expected to coordinate the work of site-based HR Administrators and act as a senior point of escalation for HR queries.
Main Responsibilities:
- Act as the HR Business Partner for the East Midlands site cluster (approximately 500 employees across manufacturing, warehouse, and office functions)
- Manage a varied ER caseload autonomously, including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, performance management, and TUPE
- Partner site and functional leaders on workforce planning, talent development, and engagement
- Lead recruitment activity for site-based roles and manage relationships with agency partners
- Support delivery of learning and development initiatives including apprenticeship and line manager programmes
- Coordinate activity with site HR Administrators and provide escalation support
- Contribute to group HR projects including policy refresh, system implementation, and culture initiatives
- Ensure compliance with UK employment law and XYZ Inc HR policy at all times
About You:
- CIPD qualified — Level 5 as a minimum; Level 7 preferred
- Minimum 5 years of generalist HR advisory or business partnering experience
- Solid, demonstrable experience managing complex ER cases independently through to resolution
- Experience supporting manufacturing, logistics, distribution, or similarly operational employee populations
- Confident communicator with the ability to build credibility quickly with operational managers
- Good working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
