About the role
We’re looking for a senior commercial leader who treats the business as if it were their own. Someone who thrives in an operational environment, understands the realities of utility and infrastructure delivery, and knows how to translate operational activity into strong commercial performance. You will own the P&L for Ferns Infrastructure, shape commercial strategy, and partner closely with operational leaders across multiple sectors including gas, water, telecoms, reinstatement, aggregates and traffic management.
What you’ll be doing
- You will take full responsibility for commercial performance, forecasting, cost management and long-term planning.
- Working side by side with operational teams to ensure commercial insight is embedded in day-to-day delivery.
- Support pricing, frameworks, bids and commercial negotiations, building strong relationships with our clients.
- Provide meaningful analysis and commentary to the senior leadership team, helping to guide long-term strategic decisions.
What you’ll bring
- Experience in a senior commercial, commercial finance or operational leadership role within utilities, civils, infrastructure or similar sectors.
- Comfortable managing a full P&L and understanding how operational delivery affects financial outcomes.
- The ability to influence, challenge and collaborate with directors, engineers, planners and operational teams.
- A forward looking mindset, ready to support a growing and diversifying organisation.
