Job summary
Main Purpose of Job
As a member of the Councils Corporate Leadership Team, the postholder will contribute to and work within the Councils policies to provide leadership in the development and implementation of strategies focused on the delivery of the strategic objectives of Council. The postholder is responsible and accountable for the range of services within his/her Directorate and will work with the Chief Executive, having joint accountability along with the other Directors for the delivery of the Councils strategic priorities and vision, and for facilitating, maintaining and participating in Community Planning for the District.
The postholder will lead, direct and manage their Directorate and ensure services are delivered efficiently and effectively within existing resources, whilst striving at all times for continuous improvement and transformation of services. The postholder will be required to attend Council, Committee and Sub-Committee Meetings as necessary, and will be the lead officer responsible for supporting and reporting to designated Committee(s), and coordinating the delivery of all reports and necessary actions arising from such Committee(s).
