You will lead and manage the end-to-end contracting process across the organisation, ensuring that all contracts are legally sound, commercially viable, and aligned with strategic objectives.
The Contracts Manager will act as a key liaison between internal stakeholders and external partners, mitigating risk and driving value through effective contract negotiation, management, and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide range of contracts including supplier agreements, service contracts, NDAs, and partnership agreements.
- Ensure contracts comply with legal requirements, company policies, and industry regulations.
- Collaborate with procurement, legal, finance, and operational teams to support contract lifecycle management.
- Monitor contract performance, obligations, and deliverables, ensuring timely renewals, amendments, and terminations.
- Maintain a centralised contract repository and ensure accurate record-keeping and version control.
- Identify and mitigate contractual risks, escalating issues as appropriate.
- Provide guidance and training to internal teams on contract terms and best practices.
- Support dispute resolution and contract enforcement processes when necessary.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of contract templates, processes, and governance frameworks.
Person Specification
- Proven experience in contract management, commercial law, or procurement.
- Strong understanding of contract law and legal terminology.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and analytical thinking.
- Ability to manage multiple contracts and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in contract management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Degree in Law, Business, or related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., IACCM, CIPS).
- Experience in [e.g., public sector, marine construction or engineering].
