Ferguson Cleaning is looking for an experienced, hands-on, and highly organised Operations Manager to support the continued growth of our business across Scotland. This is a key leadership role within a fast-growing company. We are looking for someone who can oversee day-to-day operations, manage teams effectively, maintain high service standards, support new contract mobilisations, and help ensure the business continues to grow in a controlled and professional way.
This role will suit a proactive and dependable individual who is comfortable managing multiple priorities, visiting sites, supporting employees, and dealing with operational issues as they arise. Due to the nature of the role and the pace of our growth, the successful candidate must be flexible in their availability and able to provide support across varying days and working hours when required.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee the day-to-day delivery of commercial cleaning contracts across Scotland;
- Manage and support cleaning operatives, supervisors and team leaders;
- Carry out regular site visits, inspections, audits and quality checks;
- Support the mobilisation and setup of new contracts;
- Assist with onboarding, training and supporting new employees;
- Ensure staffing levels are maintained and operational cover is arranged when needed;
- Respond quickly and effectively to client issues and operational problems;
- Maintain high cleaning standards and service delivery across all contracts;
- Monitor stock, equipment, consumables and site requirements;
- Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, COSHH and company standards;
- Work closely with senior management to improve operational performance, staff efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Previous experience in an Operations Manager, Area Manager or Contracts Manager role;
- Experience in commercial cleaning, facilities management or a similar service-led industry;
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills;
- Experience managing multiple sites and teams;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and growing business environment;
- Strong problem-solving ability and a hands-on approach;
- Full UK driving licence (essential);
- Willingness to travel across Scotland;
- Flexible availability to support operational requirements.
