Join us as Warehouse Operative and make an invaluable contribution to our Food Safety & Biosecurity!

As a Warehouse Operative you will be part of a dedicated Dispatch Team, who are responsible for the shipping of food-based Proficiency Testing and Quality Control samples to 3000+ international customer base. You will be carrying out the dispatching of orders, and receipt and storage of stock. The dispatch department are a five-person team working in a small warehouse, storing and shipping a variety of food-based products to over 120 countries around the world.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Manually preparing and packing customer orders accurately using a picking list.
  • Printing of paperwork to accompany outgoing shipments
  • Labelling up of food samples.
  • Storing and monitoring stocks of packaging materials and ice packs.
  • Performing stock control duties using our bespoke database (training provided)
  • Using courier systems to process the day’s shipments.
  • Liaising with Admin and Tech Support teams to resolve any issues with shipping and orders.
  • Handling materials with care, ensuring your area is clean and tidy in line with H&S policies.
  • Working as a team to meet daily targets.

The post will involve manual handling, standing for prolonged periods and accessing cold storage environments for which PPE will be provided. We do not currently operate shift working, but operations commence daily at 7:00am

What we’re looking for:

  • Ideally you will have experience working in any of the following areas:
    • picking/packing environment, post room, warehousing/production, retail role
  • Good understanding of computers with knowledge of applications such as Excel / Word / Email
  • Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Accurate with good attention to detail.
  • A good team player.
  • Willing to learn and follow instructions.
