Join us as a Technical Sales Specialist and make an invaluable contribution to our Food Safety & Biosecurity. As a member of the sales team, you’ll be handling incoming enquiries by phone, email or web from existing and new customers, converting enquiries into orders, and managing customer accounts. The role blends inbound and outbound calls, requiring a reactive and proactive approach. You’ll have a polite, professional telephone manner and a passion for representing our business to the highest standard.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively call new customers, welcoming them to the business.
  • Maintain contact with customers throughout the project.
  • Liaise with technical teams through Teams, email and calls.
  • Provide customers with quotations and follow up with email or outbound calls.
  • Fulfil all enquiries received by Sales/Scientist teams by submitting client quotations.
  • Ensure all contact activity is logged onto the CRM system.
  • Answer inbound reactive service calls and emails.
  • Organise and attend face‑to‑face Teams meetings with clients.
  • Make outbound calls to follow up web enquiries to close sales.
  • Conduct account penetration calls to generate revenue or appointments for the sales team.
  • Make proactive calls or emails to lapsed clients and convert them back to current customers.
  • Manage new customers’ applications.
  • Analyse CRM data to identify lost, lapsed, current and new customers and create target call logs.
  • Keep the CRM clean and up‑to‑date to identify further commercial opportunities.
  • Support the Sales team by confirming appointments in writing and by phone.
  • Liaise with the remote Sales team to ensure all contacts are added to the CRM.
  • Obtain customer information to give advice on appropriate products.
