About the role
Fenwick is looking for a People Coordinator to join our People team and provide hands-on support across the employee lifecycle. This role combines people advisory, policy management, and administrative responsibilities, offering the chance to work on a variety of HR activities while ensuring a positive experience for colleagues across the business. You will report to the People Systems Lead and work closely with senior People team members to support day-to-day people operations.
In this role, you’ll assist with employee relations and people advisory work, providing first-line guidance to managers and colleagues, supporting absence management, performance, disciplinary, and grievance processes, and preparing related documentation. You will also take ownership of people administration, including contracts, onboarding and offboarding, right-to-work checks, payroll support, and maintaining accurate employee records, while helping identify opportunities to improve processes and systems.
Additionally, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and updating People policies and procedures, ensuring they are compliant, current, and aligned with Fenwick’s values. You’ll act as a key user of the People system, generating reports, auditing data, and supporting wider People initiatives. This role suits someone with HR experience, strong organisational skills, and a proactive, solutions-focused approach who enjoys balancing advisory, policy, and operational responsibilities in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
What we are looking for in a candidate...
Essential:
- Previous experience in a HR / People / Personnel role, ideally within a retail or customer-facing environment.
- Strong excel skills.
- Sound understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience handling people administration and employee lifecycle processes.
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Confident communicator, able to build effective working relationships with managers and colleagues.
- Organised and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working with HR systems and handling confidential information.
Desirable:
- Experience supporting employee relations cases.
- Experience creating or updating HR policies and procedures.
- CIPD qualification or working towards (Level 3 or above).
- Experience working in a multi-site or retail environment.
