We have an exciting opportunity for a Data & BI Analyst to join our IT Data team at Fenwick, based in our Newcastle office.

About the Role
This role sits within the Data & BI team and plays a key part in improving the quality, reliability, and usability of data across Fenwick. You will combine data analysis, data quality monitoring, and business intelligence development to both identify issues and help design scalable solutions that prevent them. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their data career looking to develop into a BI Developer or Data Engineer, working with modern platforms including Snowflake and cloud-based data tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Quality & Governance
- Monitor and assess data quality across key business systems (e.g. D365, eCommerce, Finance)
- Investigate data issues, identify root causes, and support resolution with business and IT teams
- Work with stakeholders to improve data processes and prevent recurring issues
- Support the development and maintenance of data quality dashboards and reporting
- Data Analysis & BI Development
- Build and maintain dashboards and reports using BI tools (e.g. Qlik, Power BI)
- Write SQL queries to analyse and transform data
- Support development of curated datasets within Snowflake
- Assist with data modelling and reporting layer design
- Automation & Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to automate manual data checks and processes
- Support development of monitoring, alerting, and validation frameworks
- Contribute to improving data pipelines and data flows across systems
- Create clear documentation for processes, datasets, and reporting
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with data and draw meaningful insights
- Confident communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Organised with attention to detail
Desirable (but not essential)
- Basic SQL knowledge or experience working with databases
- Experience with BI tools (Qlik, Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
- Understanding of data modelling concepts
- Awareness of cloud data platforms (e.g. Snowflake, Azure)
- Experience with Excel for data analysis
