Kick-start your career in one of the most specialised and high-value areas of technology and business: Energy & Commodities Trading and Risk Management.

As a Junior Technical Consultant, you’ll undertake a rigorous six-month training programme, building deep expertise in E/CTRM platforms, trading workflows, and financial risk. This is a structured pathway into a client-facing consulting role, working on complex, high-impact projects with leading energy and commodity firms.

You’ll be mentored by some of the industry’s most experienced consultants and architects, gaining exposure that is typically only accessible to a select few. Enjoy a progressive career path from Consultant to Principal, to Managing Consultant to Director.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Designing and developing solutions using Java and/or C#
  • Working across full project lifecycles: implementation, upgrade, and integration
  • Contributing to system architecture, data modelling, and integration design
  • Collaborating with traders, risk teams, and operations stakeholders
  • Delivering solutions across front, middle, and back-office environments

What we’re looking for:

  • London-based
  • 2:1 (or above) BSc in Computer Science (or related discipline)
  • Minimum 2 years’ commercial experience (ideally consulting or project-based)
  • Strong coding skills in Java or C#
  • Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases
  • Strong problem-solving ability and interest in client-facing work

Why this role? This is not a traditional developer position. You’ll combine engineering with consulting—working directly with clients, solving real-world problems, and building expertise in a niche, high-demand domain.

Send your CV in confidence ASAP.
