Are you an experienced Finance Assistant looking for a new challenge within a fast-paced Finance team? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Finance Assistant on a 6-month fixed-term contract!

About the role
As a Finance Assistant at Fenwick, you will play a key role in supporting the Group Financial Control and Operations team through the accurate processing, reconciliation, and maintenance of key financial accounts. This 6-month fixed-term opportunity is designed to provide essential temporary support to the Finance function, with a focus on high-volume transactional work across Tender Accounts, Cash, Assets, and Sales Ledger accounts. Your contribution will help ensure financial accuracy, strong controls, and the smooth day-to-day operation of core finance processes within a fast-paced retail environment.
Working collaboratively with Finance, IT, and Retail colleagues, you’ll be responsible for reconciling a range of tender types including Cash, Adyen, PayPal, and other payment methods, alongside supporting credit control activities and sales ledger postings. You’ll also assist with reporting across key areas of financial control and contribute to ongoing process improvements where appropriate.
Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage large transactional volumes while working to deadlines will be essential for success in this role. This position is ideally suited to someone with previous finance reconciliation experience who is confident working within a busy operational finance environment. You’ll bring a solid understanding of double-entry accounting, strong Excel skills, and experience using D365 Finance and Operations or a similar finance system. Whether you are part-qualified or have gained strong practical experience within a finance function, this role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team and make an immediate impact during a key period of support for the business.
