Permanent Chef - Care Home
Location: Pembroke Care, 32 Alexandra Road, Reading, Berkshire, RG1 5PF
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
We are currently recruiting for a Chef to join a care home in Reading, Berkshire on a permanent basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, high-quality meals for residents while maintaining excellent food hygiene and kitchen standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook fresh, nutritious meals for residents.
- Cater for different dietary requirements, including special and modified diets where required.
- Plan and prepare menus in line with residents' nutritional needs.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and health & safety.
- Manage kitchen stock and minimise food waste.
- Work effectively as part of the care home team.
- Ensure meals are prepared and served on time.
Requirements
- Previous Chef/Cook experience in a care home or similar healthcare setting is essential.
- Good knowledge of food hygiene and food safety.
- Experience catering for elderly residents and special dietary requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, organised and able to maintain high standards.
- Relevant food safety qualifications are desirable.
