We’re looking for fantastic colleagues to help us be the best at putting convenient veg on every plate. Love food? Enjoy getting hands‑on in the kitchen and seeing ideas turn into real products on the shelf? At Fenmarc, our NPD team are at the heart of creating exciting, high‑quality products for our customers. As part of the team, you’ll play a key role in bringing new ideas to life – from first concept right through to factory launch. You’ll be supporting NPD projects, helping us deliver new product launches and improvements to existing lines, making sure everything is done to a high standard and works in real production.
Based at Elm, Wisbech 08.30 – 17.00 Monday to Friday 37.5hrs per week.
What you’ll be doing:
- Work with our NPD team to create and develop delicious product concepts.
- Help take products from idea to reality through our site development process.
- Support a small number of customer projects (with guidance).
- Keep NPD paperwork and documentation up to date and organised.
- Help source and manage ingredients and product samples.
- Assist with product benchmarking and case count assessments.
- Support gap analysis, seasonal reviews and trend spotting.
- Contribute ideas and suggestions to development briefs.
- Attend product submissions where required.
- Get involved in factory trials, pre‑productions and launches.
- Support trial reports, line standards and BOM checks.
- Assist with artwork approvals.
- Carry out cooking validations and product write‑ups.
- Complete taste testing (organoleptics) and report findings.
- Be part of NPD lunches, customer visits and site activity.
- Support building a strong food culture across site.
- Be flexible when needed for trials and launches (occasional hours outside normal shifts).
- Step in to support the wider NPD team where needed.
What you’ll have:
- Around 1–2 years’ experience in product development (or a Food Science degree or similar).
- A genuine passion for food and hands‑on kitchen work.
- Strong relationship building skills – you’ll work with lots of teams.
- A can‑do attitude, with great organisation and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage priorities and adapt in a fast‑paced environment.
- Confident communicator – both written and verbal.
