About the Role
Fenland SOIL is working to support sustainable food production while reducing emissions from lowland agricultural peat. We’re looking for a Research and Engagement Officer to support farmer and stakeholder engagement through the Farmer’s Dialogue, our membership and facilitator group.
Key Responsibilities and Qualifications
- Contribute to grant writing and funding applications
- Manage internal and external tasks to ensure project progression
- Plan and deliver Fenland SOIL events
- Lead outreach and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
- Support the day‑to‑day delivery of the Farmer’s Dialogue
- Represent Fenland SOIL at events and conferences
- Carry out additional duties as required
Qualifications
- Degree (or equivalent) in geography, environmental/soil sciences, agriculture, or similar
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, especially with farmers
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Passion for sustainability and a proactive approach
- Confidence communicating via meetings, email, and phone
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable (but not essential)
- Basic GIS skills
- Familiarity with agricultural environments
