North Yorkshire Council’s Property and Land Estate is managed under a Centralised Property Function, or Corporate Landlord Model, and consists of over 3,000 land and property assets over a geographical area of 3,341sq miles. The portfolio consists of operational offices, operational buildings delivering front line services, farmland, legacy/surplus land and assets, industrial units, private residential and commercial holdings. It also works with several partners to support land and building requirements including the Police, NHS and 3rd sector organisations.
This post will support the Water Hygiene Lead with contract management of the appointed water hygiene suppliers. They will support in undertaking site audits to ensure that the required remedial actions align to the legislation and corporate arrangements. The post holder will supervise a region within the council and have responsibility to ensure water hygiene safety within those assets assigned within that region. They will supervise contractors to ensure service delivery and additionally undertake key elements of remedial works within their remit. The post holder is required to report to the Water Hygiene Lead on any risks related issues, contract performance challenges and general condition of the water systems.
Given the role that property assets have as a key enabler to the delivery of the Council’s functions and services, Property Services works closely with services across the Council, Councillors, key partners, community organisations, and the public. Working with consultants and contractors to deliver a modern, efficient, and effective, forward-looking service. The postholder will have to travel across the county and work within varying environments which will include but are not limited to confined spaces, working at height and external weather conditions.
