About Fence

Fence is building the modern infrastructure for asset-backed finance. Today, asset-backed finance is still administered through spreadsheets, PDFs, manual reconciliation, slow drawdowns, bespoke legal and capital-markets processes, and fragmented information between originators, lenders, investors, SPVs, agents, and servicers. This is not just inefficient back office work. It is one of the reasons capital moves slowly, assets are hard to finance, and private credit markets remain less liquid, less transparent, and less programmable than they should be. Fence replaces the spreadsheets, PDFs, and email with modern infrastructure based on APIs, AI, smart contracts and stablecoins.

In the near term, this makes Fence the tech-native facility agent for modern asset-backed finance: the operating layer that runs the facility and the SPV end to end. The larger vision is to enable the instant originate-to-distribute model for every asset originator: assets born with the data, controls, eligibility checks, cash-flow logic, and investor visibility required to be financed and distributed continuously. Joining Fence means helping build the operating system for how capital moves into assets and back again.

The Mission

Your mission will be to make Fence commercially unavoidable in European asset-backed finance. This is not a generic regional sales role. It is a capital-markets commercial role for someone who can personally source, shape, qualify, and close complex institutional opportunities, then turn founder-led selling into a repeatable European motion.

What You Will Own

  • European market focus: Decide where Fence should focus first across the UK, Spain, France, Germany, and adjacent European markets.
  • Institutional relationships: Build and deepen relationships with originators, lenders, private credit firms, banks, fintech operators, and relevant RWA / crypto-native investors.
  • Commercial execution: Personally source, qualify, shape, and close high-quality opportunities before scaling the team.
  • Sales-cycle discipline: Turn complex buyer conversations into clear next steps, stakeholder maps, decision criteria, and facility-level paths to close.
  • Market feedback: Help sharpen how Fence explains the facility-agent wedge, onchain finance services, and originate-to-distribute opportunity to institutional audiences.

Who You Are

You have strong capital-markets judgment and builder energy. You understand how institutional finance decisions are made, how trust is built, and how complex commercial opportunities move from conversation to mandate. Strong candidates will likely have:

  • Experience across structured credit, private credit, asset-backed finance, capital markets, fintech infrastructure, digital assets, or a closely related institutional-finance environment.
  • A track record of personally originating, shaping, advancing, or closing complex institutional deals.
  • Comfort operating without a mature sales playbook.
  • The ability to turn ambiguity into a better system instead of waiting for one.

Why You May Not Be A Fit

You may not be a fit if:

  • You want to inherit a scaled sales team, mature collateral, and a fully defined territory plan.
  • You are mainly a relationship introducer, but do not want to personally drive qualification, next steps, follow-up, and close paths.
  • You have only sold SaaS without deep institutional-finance fluency and would struggle to hold a serious capital-markets conversation.
  • You would hire a team before proving the motion yourself.

Location

London is the default location for this search. Madrid can work for an exceptional candidate. The role will involve regular travel to Madrid and periodic time in New York.

Why This Role Matters

Fence is moving from founder-led commercial conversations toward a repeatable institutional GTM motion. If we get this role right, Fence can win the next European facilities, make the market easier to navigate, and build the commercial system that lets the company scale beyond founder bandwidth.
