This is a first-of-its-kind new role at Flo Health. As VP Corporate Development at Flo Health, you will be a critical and strategic member of the CFO’s management team and go-forward strategy.

Corporate Development will lead Flo’s efforts in:

  • Mapping long-term growth opportunities and leading long-term planning
  • Setting up and maintaining a commercial partnerships landscape, including but not limited to:
  • Product integrations: Partnering with third-party platforms and technologies to enhance product value and drive user growth
  • Distribution partnerships: Identifying and structuring partnerships that increase customer acquisition and unlock new channels
  • M&A pipeline: Building and managing a pipeline of potential acquisitions.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Long Term Planning

  • Develop and execute Flo's corporate development strategy in close collaboration with the CFO and executive leadership team, reporting to the CFO
  • Lead industry mapping to identify priority market segments, key players, emerging technologies, and ecosystem dynamics relevant to Flo’s mission.
  • Establish a clear long-term planning framework informed by industry mapping, competitive analysis, and identification of priority growth vectors.
  • Establish, build and maintain relationships with key industry players, investment banks, and venture capital firms to support deal sourcing and industry awareness

Partnerships

  • Identify, evaluate, and structure strategic partnerships that increase customer acquisition, unlock new distribution channels and expand routes to market
  • Design and own a rigorous, repeatable process for sourcing, assessing, and prioritising strategic partnership opportunities.
  • Lead partnership opportunities involving third-party platforms and technologies, including product integrations that enhance product value and accelerate user growth.

M&A

  • Identify and evaluate potential acquisition targets and investment opportunities that align with Flo's mission and long-term business objectives
  • Build the M&A funnel and ensure Flo has strong visibility on all M&A activity in the space
  • Lead comprehensive due diligence processes spanning financial, commercial, technical, medical/regulatory, and cultural considerations
  • Own end-to-end deal execution, including transaction structuring and negotiations to maximise strategic and financial value.
  • Drive post-acquisition integration planning and execution to ensure successful outcomes and realisation of expected synergies.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams during exploration and deal execution, including legal, medical, finance, product, and engineering teams
  • Develop and present comprehensive, data-driven business cases for strategic initiatives to the executive team
  • Build, lead, and develop a small, high-performing corporate development team over time.

Qualifications

  • Open to a mix of profiles, but ideally can combine relevant operational experience and deal (or partnership) execution experience
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate development, M&A, investment banking, consulting or private equity.
  • Proven track record of building partnerships or acquisitions in the healthcare segment
  • Proven track record of efficient communication within product and engineering organizations on complex integration projects.
  • Strategic vision coupled with exceptional cross-functional execution capabilities.
  • Deep understanding of technology business models. Knowledge of digital health and consumer subscription markets would be a great advantage.
  • Strong financial acumen with general knowledge in valuation methodologies and deal and/or partnership structuring.
