An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, experienced and talented Theatre and Events Technician to join our Performing Arts Department. The role of Theatre and Events Technician is to support the Performing Arts Department in ensuring school productions, Drama, Dance and Music provision, as well as school events are delivered at the highest level of quality. The successful candidate will need to work effectively with both internal staff and external contractors to ensure that events, conferences and presentations are suitably resourced and delivered. The Theatre and Events Technician also has line management responsibilities for casual/freelance technical staff and external contractors. Felsted hosts over 40 productions/events per year and hosts a variety of conferences, ranging from LAMDA Performance Evenings to large scale productions.

Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will have good working knowledge and experience in some of the following areas: scenic construction, costume, stage management (including props), lighting, sound (digital, analogue and live), AV (filming, editing, live streaming), and be comfortable working at height.
  • A degree qualification (or equivalent) or relevant professional experience in theatre/performing arts would be desirable.

Contract and Hours:

This role is a permanent position working term-time plus six weeks (totalling 40 weeks per annum). This is a full-time position working an average of 37.5 hours per week across five days out of seven (Monday-Sunday), with additional hours worked given as TOIL as agreed.
