Due to continued growth and a healthy pipeline of exciting projects, we are seeking a full-time WordPress Web Developer to join our award-winning team. In line with our company values, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate a forward-thinking and positive outlook, show great attention to detail, and be able to demonstrate high levels of technical ability. They should confidently and professionally take tasks through from concept to completion, ensuring that their solutions have been clearly defined, efficiently coded, and suitably tested / quality assured.

We specialise in building WordPress Multisites, WooCommerce sites and integrating WordPress with other business systems (Salesforce, Sage, Hubspot etc.). We build long-term partnerships with our clients, who range from ambitious SMEs to multinationals and global groups. As such, the successful candidate will be expected to help maintain, support and further develop our clients' websites as part of our Digital Team, which includes developers, designers, account managers and digital marketers. There will also be opportunities to work on new WordPress websites and web applications / online systems, for both new and existing clients.

Our studio is based in Woolpit, Suffolk, just off the A14 - that's 15 minutes from Bury St Edmunds, 30 minutes from Ipswich and 40 minutes from Cambridge. This is a Hybrid role, with a typical working week split between the office and home.

Required language and technology proficiencies

  • At least 3 years’ experience of developing WordPress themes, plugins and websites inline with WordPress’ own coding standards preferably within an agency or similar, fast-paced, environment.
  • Highly proficient in the following languages and technologies:
    • PHP (procedural and object oriented at versions 7 and above)
    • HTML 5
    • CSS 3
    • Javascript (ES6 and above)
    • MySQL / MariaDB
    • Git version control (including LFS)

Required WordPress proficiencies

  • Experience and confidence working with the following WordPress plugins and extensions:
    • WordPress Multisite
    • WooCommerce (including HPOS)
    • Advanced Custom Fields Pro (including custom Gutenberg Blocks)
    • Gravity Forms
    • WP CLI
    • Full Site Editing
    • I18n for WordPress

Beneficial experiences and proficiencies

  • Experience of any of the following would also be very beneficial for this role:

    • Working knowledge of Linux web servers
    • Google Analytics 4
