Role Summary
We are searching for a Commercial Finance Analyst to join our European Commercial Finance Team. This role plays a critical role in understanding and improving sales, profitability, and commercial outcomes. You will work closely with stakeholders to enhance value‑adding reporting, support pricing and rebate activity, and help identify opportunities to maximise commercial performance while mitigating financial risk.
In This Role, You will...
- Analyse sales, margin, cost of goods sold, inventory and outbound freight, and report on performance across all Business Channels and Countries, including preparation of commentary and participation in conference calls.
- Analyse customer rebates and pricing, reporting on changes, variances and exceptions.
- Support sales, margin and contribution forecasting, budgeting and ROI analysis to inform effective commercial decision‑making.
- Support tender evaluations and commercial proposals through financial analysis, including pricing, rebates and ROI.
- Actively follow up on actions arising from commercial insights to ensure opportunities are realised and risks are identified and addressed.
- Identify and escape commercial and financial risks, supporting actions to control and mitigate their impact.
- Support the Commercial Finance Manager in implementing and maintaining relevant, effective and efficient Commercial Finance systems and processes.
- Ensure product costing is completed timely and accurately, reviewing cost overheads, cost absorptions and other data utilised by costing to ensure validity and accuracy.
- Assist key leaders in areas of customer profitability, pricing discipline, rebate analysis, direct and indirect sales costs, and other commercial performance drivers.
- Continually improve the efficiency and effectiveness of commercial and financial reporting.
- Undertake ad hoc duties, projects and analysis as required.
- Work in collaboration with the other Fellowes employees to support continuous improvement and effective business decision‑making.
What You Bring to the Team
- Full or part qualified ACCA or CIMA.
- Experience of working within an FMCG environment (essential).
- Knowledge of product costing, including foreign sourced and manufactured product lines.
- Exposure to foreign currency translation and group consolidation.
- Advanced working knowledge of MS Excel (essential); VBA experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Working knowledge of MS Copilot, MS Power Automate, Cognos Reporting, MS Power BI desirable but not essential.
- Fluency in French, German or other European languages would be a distinct advantage.
