Our client, a fast growing private markets firm are seeking a Financial Reporting Associate to join the team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified accountant looking to make the transition from practice into industry, with a clear path for growth within a lean, high-calibre finance function. You will work closely with senior finance and operations professionals, gaining broad exposure to financial reporting and the operational mechanics of a high growth investment firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review periodic financial statements for the group and its subsidiary entities, in accordance with UK GAAP/IFRS (and US GAAP where relevant)
- Support the year-end group audit process, acting as the key liaison with external auditors and ensuring a smooth, well-documented audit
- Assist in the preparation of group consolidated accounts, including intercompany reconciliations and eliminations
- Review and reconcile group expenses, management fees, and performance fee calculations
- Support regulatory and statutory reporting requirements (e.g. FCA, AIFMD, Companies House filings) in conjunction with the compliance team
- Maintain and improve group reporting processes, controls, and timetables as the firm grows
- Liaise with administrators, custodians, and other third-party service providers on reporting matters
- Support technical accounting research and the implementation of new accounting standards across group entities
Candidate Profile
- Background in audit at a recognised accounting firm, with experience auditing private capital clients strongly preferred
- Strong technical accounting knowledge (UK GAAP/IFRS; US GAAP exposure a plus)
- First move into industry. This role is designed as a launchpad from practice
- High attention to detail and comfort working with complex financial structures
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a small, collaborative team
- Self-starter mentality, comfortable with ambiguity and taking ownership in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
