We have an exciting opportunity for an HR Advisor to join us on a 9-month maternity cover based in either Bath or London. Our HR Advisor will be the first point of contact for all People-related queries across the practice and will support our colleagues across the full employee lifecycle as well as playing an active role in driving forward HR incentives and related projects. With heaps of variety, your day to day will vary from sourcing the best talent to join us to ensuring effective implementation of our People policies and procedures. You will also utilise your up-to-date employment law knowledge to provide expert advice and guidance on People-related issues through advising on best practice, coaching, and influencing our teams and leaders. About you We are looking for a passionate and self-driven HR professional who thrives on working independently and will take initiative with confidence. You will be comfortable working across all levels and bring with you your strong relationship-building skills. It would be great if you are CIPD qualified but if not, you will be able to demonstrate excellent working HR knowledge and experience from your previous roles as a trusted advisor. Interested in learning more? We would love to hear from you! Areas of Responsibility Proactively and effectively manage the recruitment process from start to finish for all roles across the practice. Take briefs, create appropriate job adverts, and advertise to maximise reach for suitable candidates. Build networks with key architectural universities. Ensure all new starter administration is completed in a timely manner and our new starters are set up for success! Provide advice, guidance, and coaching to all FCB employees on People-related topics and queries including absence management, sickness, wellbeing, performance management, etc. Support in developing HR policies and procedures ensuring best practice and alignment to any legislative changes. Manage our yearly work experience programme liaising with local schools and developing our offering to students. Manage the annual review administration with booking in reviews across the support departments. Support our CPD working group in effectively scheduling and organising appropriate CPDs across the practice to foster a culture of continuous learning. Play an active role in our practice forums including Mental Health, EDI, and Employee Forum. Manage the leaver process and associated administration. Support in other HR initiatives and projects including our FCB mentoring scheme, employee engagement, and the ongoing review/development of our policies and procedures. Work closely with our Payroll Manager in providing information related to payroll. What you will bring to the role Demonstrable experience within a generalist HR role with ideally level 3 or 5 CIPD. Proven experience and up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and HR policies and procedures. Experience in providing guidance and support on HR issues. Passion and interest in EDI and supporting incentives around mental health and wellbeing. Highly motivated with the ability to work on own initiative. Excellent communication skills with a passion for building effective relationships across all levels. Ability to deal with matters sensitively and confidently, displaying integrity and sincerity. Hours: 9.00 am – 5.30 pm Monday to Friday (with an unpaid hour for lunch). Based in either Bath or London. Office-based initially to support with handover/onboarding with a move to hybrid working a minimum of 3 days a week in the office. We are a progressive and ethical architectural practice.
