An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head Barista to lead our coffee offering in one of our established Fego cafés. This is a full-time, daytime-only position. No late nights. No evening shifts. We are a daytime hospitality business.

The Role

As Head Barista, you will take full ownership of coffee quality, bar standards and barista training. You will lead from the front during service and ensure every drink is delivered quickly, consistently and beautifully presented. You are not just making coffee — you are setting the standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coffee & Quality Control
    • Dial in espresso daily and maintain consistency
    • Ensure all drinks are served within 5 minutes
    • Maintain excellent latte art and presentation standards
    • Monitor recipes, portion control and GP
    • Oversee cleaning, maintenance and equipment care
  • Team Leadership
    • Train and develop baristas to Fego standards
    • Coach in real time during service
    • Lead the bar during busy periods
    • Support a strong team culture and positive environment
  • Service Excellence
    • Deliver warm, professional and efficient service
    • Build relationships with regular guests
    • Drive sales through confident product knowledge (coffee, juices, smoothies, soft drinks & alcohol)
    • Maintain a clean, organised and compliant bar area
  • Operational Standards
    • Assist with ordering and stock control
    • Reduce waste and protect margins
    • Ensure food safety and hygiene compliance at all times

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years strong barista experience
  • Confident dialing in espresso and adjusting grind
  • Experience leading or training a team
  • High standards and strong attention to detail
  • Calm under pressure
  • Commercially aware and sales focused
  • Positive, energetic and hands-on
