At Fego, we don’t just run restaurants — we create places people feel at home. We’re looking for a General Manager who leads with warmth, confidence and real care for people. Someone who enjoys being on the floor, building a strong team, and taking full ownership of their café. This role is for someone who believes great hospitality is about relationships, consistency and the small details that make a difference.
About the Role
As General Manager, you’ll set the tone for everything — the energy of the team, the feel of the café, and the experience our guests have every day. You’ll be hands-on, present and leading from the front — not managing from the office. You’ll bring structure where needed, but always with a human touch.
- Lead the day-to-day running of the café with confidence and ownership
- Be a strong, visible presence on the floor
- Build, coach and develop a solid, happy team
- Create a warm, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for guests
- Keep standards high across service, food and environment
- Manage rotas, stock, labour and key KPIs
- Follow and improve systems and ways of working
- Build relationships with regulars and the local community
- Make clear, confident decisions day to day
This is a role for someone who enjoys responsibility and naturally brings people with them.
Who You Are
You’re calm, consistent and people-focused. You enjoy leading by example and creating an environment where the team feel supported and guests feel looked after. You’ll fit well here if you:
- Have 3+ years’ experience running a busy restaurant or café
- Prefer being on the floor rather than behind a desk
- Can run a site independently and take full ownership
- Communicate clearly and with respect
- Are organised and structured in how you work
- Care about people and building a strong team culture
- Take pride in creating great guest experiences
The Fego Way (Our Leadership Style)
At Fego, how you lead matters just as much as what you do. We’re looking for someone who:
- Leads with kindness and generosity – supports the team and creates a positive environment
- Brings energy and presence – someone people naturally respond to
- Acts with integrity – fair, honest and consistent
- Listens and adapts – self-aware and open to feedback
- Sets high standards – cares about the details and keeps improving
- Leads and organises – strong on people but also on structure
- Has a “can and will” attitude – finds solutions and takes ownership
- Communicates clearly – keeps the team aligned and confident
- Stays organised – uses systems and planning to keep things running well
What We Offer
- Competitive salary + TRONC
- Performance-related bonus
- Daytime-only hours
- Free meals on shift
- Team discount for you, friends and family
- Real opportunities for growth and progression
- Team rewards, recognition and celebrations
- A supportive, positive culture with heart
Why Fego?
Because here, it’s about more than just running a restaurant. It’s about creating a place where:
- guests feel comfortable and welcomed
- teams feel supported and proud
- and people actually enjoy coming to work
