Role purpose

You will perform a Purchase Ledger role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment based in the Stockport area. Working as part of a wider team, you will manage the purchase ledger activities for the local site, processing invoices and purchases.

Responsibilities

  • Process vendor invoices and credit notes, match to purchase orders (if any), and attach to delivery notes to ensure correct coding in the system.
  • Produce a weekly forecast of payments.
  • Run weekly BACS payments and ad hoc payments as required.
  • Support the team with month-end tasks and activities.
  • Gather accrual figures for the site utilities.
  • Intercompany reconciliations.
  • Cover the Sales Ledger and Credit Control when required.
  • Perform other ad hoc duties as required for the role.

Who we are looking for

  • GCSEs in English and Mathematics at grade A-C (or equivalent).
  • Preferably AAT level 2 (advantageous).
  • 2 or more years in a Purchase Ledger role/environment.
  • High level of professionalism and tact in difficult situations.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office packages.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and with people from various backgrounds.
  • Fluent in the English language.

Selection process

This is a two-step interview process. Shortlisted candidates will meet the Management Accountant and HR Business Partner, followed by a final interview with the Financial Controller.
