Properties & Real Estate Project Specialist
FedEx, based in Atherstone, United Kingdom, is seeking a dedicated Properties & Real Estate Project Specialist to join our European Central Planning & Engineering (P&E) properties team. In this role you will manage a portfolio of real‑estate projects across Europe, balancing local regulations, FedEx global standards, and the needs of regional teams to deliver projects on time, on budget, and in compliance with company policy.
Responsibilities
- Lead or support multiple engineering and construction/material‑handling projects, covering real estate, construction, and administrative aspects.
- Manage schedules, resources, and budgets for projects throughout Europe, including engineering design, procurement, installation, start‑up, training, maintenance, documentation, and contract management.
- Monitor, report, and ensure compliance with contract requirements for all project activities.
- Coordinate and collaborate with local and global FedEx teams, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, address variances, and proactively maintain financial performance.
- Engage procurement, legal, and other functional areas to bid and contract necessary work.
- Utilize FedEx global quality systems to drive continuous improvement in processes, procedures, and standards.
- Resolve project issues with internal stakeholders and suppliers, building strong business relationships for strategic alignment and value engineering.
- Ensure project safety, code compliance, and adherence to company requirements.
- Travel throughout Europe (approximately 20% of time) to construction sites and local partner meetings.
Qualifications
- Degree or professional qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Real Estate, or related field.
- 1–5 years of experience in project management, real‑estate development, or facility engineering with a proven track record of managing high‑impact projects.
- Fluent in English.
- Experience in strategic planning and execution of complex real‑estate projects, including land acquisitions, facility design, and large‑scale construction.
- Strong project management skills: budgeting, milestone tracking, and delivery within scope and schedule.
- Proficiency in change management and the ability to manage expectations amid internal and external influences.
- Competency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, AutoCAD) and data‑analysis tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to translate complex technical information to non‑technical audiences.
- Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage projects within a global context across diverse cultures.
