Responsibilities
- Act as link between FedEx and regulatory authorities, ensuring compliance with legislation.
- Identify relevant changes in UK and international trading practices, read and analyze regulatory documents, and demonstrate market awareness.
- Influence advantageous or prevent disadvantageous changes at GB level by predicting short‑ and long‑term impact and opportunities.
- Study regulatory and legal documents regarding customs regulations and monitor and anticipate legislative and jurisprudential developments; maintain relations with HMRC.
- Follow‑up meetings with AICES and facilitate meetings to discuss current and upcoming projects, communicating with employees on various topics.
- Assist in preparing documents for liaising and negotiating with regulatory authorities.
- Provide advice about regulations to GTS and support ad‑hoc projects (on demand from GTS); translate customs regulatory legislation into business‑specific issues for key accounts.
- Support FedEx representation in specialized committees/associations; develop and maintain an effective network of contacts both within and outside FedEx and support FedEx in trade associations to influence industry position.
- Attend the AICES Technical Working Group and Customs Committee meetings.
- Support clearance teams, assist in training/guidance material, and analyze daily Gov.uk email alerts to report to clearance teams.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of UK customs regulations and clearance processes.
- In‑depth knowledge of customs EU legislation, practices and procedures.
- Exceptional analytical, conceptual and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent problem evaluation utilizing technical knowledge and relevant sources to respond to complex requirements from key accounts.
- Experience developing new or innovative solutions to complex business issues.
- Time‑management skills and good presentation/communication skills.
