We have an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join the Engineering Team as a fully skilled Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance Technician Advanced based at our Vehicle Maintenance Unit in Exeter.
Role Overview: We value diversity and inclusivity. As a Vehicle Technician Advanced, you will maintain FedEx Assets' safety and reliability by servicing and maintaining the company fleet of vehicles and trailers according to scheduled plans, ensuring they are safe, legal, and fit for duty.
Working hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexible hours to be discussed.
Salary: Base pay of £23.86 per hour, with additional premiums for hours worked between 7pm-10pm (£2.56) and 10pm-6am (£3.10).
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete service and inspection records.
- Prepare vehicles and trailers for annual MOT testing to ensure first-time pass.
- Perform ad-hoc repairs, investigate, and rectify vehicle defects.
- Use tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards and perform other duties as assigned.
- Advise operational departments on equipment availability.
Candidate Requirements:
- Fully skilled with applicable licenses, e.g., LGV C&E license (class one).
- City & Guilds parts 1 & 2 or equivalent in commercial vehicle repairs.
- Knowledge of automotive testing and troubleshooting equipment.
- Ability to lift and handle heavy vehicle components.
- Experience with welding and basic electrical troubleshooting.
- Valid driving license.
- Previous relevant experience.
