The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of the vehicle fleet to ensure safety, compliance, reliability, and cost‑effective operation. The role leads maintenance staff and contractors, plans preventative maintenance, manages defects, and ensures all vehicles meet statutory and organisational standards while supporting uninterrupted operations.
Working hours: 37.5 per week
What you will be doing:
- Overseeing the day‑to‑day maintenance and repair of the vehicle fleet to ensure safety, compliance, and availability
- Planning and monitoring preventative maintenance, servicing, MOTs, and inspections
- Managing vehicle defects, ensuring timely rectification and safe return to service
- Supervising and supporting technicians and external maintenance providers
- Ensuring all maintenance work meets legal, manufacturer, and company standards
- Controlling maintenance costs, raising work orders, and authorising repairs where appropriate
- Maintaining accurate records, reports, and audit‑ready documentation
- Liaising with operations, drivers, and suppliers to minimise vehicle downtime
- Supporting health & safety compliance and promoting a strong safety culture
- Identifying trends, recurring faults, and opportunities for continuous improvement
