Position Overview: This is an interview position. To perform duties relevant to the processing of low value (LVS) shipments in accordance with the Canadian Customs and other government departments regulations and legislation. To provide accurate information and assistance to customers requiring international shipment information. Primary focus of this role is on commercial shipments.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Educational Requirements: Post Secondary: Community College Diploma/Equivalent. Professional accreditation/certification: Canadian Customs Specialist or CSCB qualified.
- Related Experience Requirements: Minimum one year experience required (FedEx preferred) with basic knowledge of Canadian Customs Regulations related to International Operations.
- Other Specific Mandatory Experience Requirements: Incumbents must maintain their CCS designation when in this position. Must achieve annual re-currency points. Must have the ability to lift 70 lbs and maneuver any package weighing up to 150 lbs with the appropriate equipment if position is located at the following ports: YQG, YOW, YEG, YWG, YYC, YMX. In the province of Quebec, must be bilingual (English and French).
- Technical Skill Requirements: Good mathematical and computer aptitude required. Knowledge of customs rules and regulations. Computer literacy and proficiency: Knowledge of clearance systems preferred. Basic Level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Minimum of 25 wpm on data entry alpha numeric testing preferred.
