Working hours: 40 per week
Salary: £24.93 per hour. Premia paid for hours worked between 7pm - 10pm & 10pm - 6am.
Responsible for the completion of repair and maintenance of Company Ground Support Equipment (GSE), electrical systems, ground equipment, location-specific equipment to ensure FedEx Ramp/Sort/Aircraft MXT teams operate safely and effectively. Ensures accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant internal and external standards and procedures. Identifies anomalies as they arise and resolves directly with operators. Performs the timely and efficient servicing and repair of complex types of Vehicle & GSE. Includes using appropriate tools, complex diagnostic equipment & vehicle specifications and following approved processes, procedures & control mechanisms to achieve the required service levels, performance standards & outsourcing repairs to vendors when appropriate. Maintains accurate documentation and database integrity in accordance with defined standards. Supports the Manager by performing assigned lead duties including the allocation and prioritisation of work and audit/review of maintenance results and standards.
Vehicle & GSE – Snr Technician
- Full driving licence (LCV and/or GSE licence)
- Relevant qualification in automotive, truck or plant equipment
- Able to lift & manoeuvre vehicle components up to a weight of 25K & larger weights with appropriate equipment
- Substantial experience of vehicle and plant maintenance with an in-depth knowledge of vehicle types and systems, diagnosis and repair techniques, resource requirements, service specifications, regulatory standards & requirements etc
- Good knowledge of health & safety in the workplace and specific vehicle workshop requirements
- Quality focused with experience of reviewing vehicle/plant repairs against set standards & identifying corrective actions needed
- Experience of working independently whilst functioning as a team player
- Basic interpersonal skills
- Good planning & organising skills with experience of prioritising & co-ordinating multiple tasks
- Good standard of numeracy with experience of performing procedural checks on invoices to ensure accuracy
- Excellent problem solving & diagnostic skills
- Experience of updating a fleet Management system (GVMAX) & of generating standard reports
